His artistic pursuits are oblique and often misunderstood. By posting this video, I don’t think I’m helping.

Email Thread #1: "Today is Number Too Many"

I’ve decided that email threads are the most underappreciated literary form out there. That’s why I’ll be publishing a series of threads that I find particularly well-wrought. If you’re interested in having an email thread published on Lesser Works, send the thread to: lesserworks@gmail.com

“Today is Number Too Many”

Initial Email (from CR)

Today is number too many on the “mornings Caitlin has arrived home to see that someone was sleeping in her bed” tally.

Could we just make it a general rule that drunk people who don’t have rides home don’t have the option of staying in my bed, particularly if I’m not here to okay it. I don’t know that anyone is telling them that it is okay, but I’d rather it be discouraged. I’m not really into locking my door when I go out either…

First Response (from KD)

Yeah, that totally sucks. Let’s crack this code.

Second and Last Response (from EW)

I guess I’ll take the blame for this one. I was pulling out the futon for Garret when he saw that you were gone. “I’ll just sleep in Caitlin’s bed,” he offered. “I dunno, man, she may come home later. I’ve got this bed set up for you,” I responded. “Nah, it’s cool, she’s probably not coming home anyways, it’s already so late,” Garret rebuked. “Umm…” I trailed off before drunkenly stumbling to bed.

Sorry I didn’t put up more of a fight. I mean, he beat up a guy with a knife, so I was worried he’d kill me. Next time I’ll knock him out with a candelabra and drag him on the couch.

There are a few bits, however, that might be misleading. For one, I don’t think Colin meant to make the shower head so big. Also, the squiggly lines on the outside are supposed to be vines (I’m not sure Colin had time to draw leaves). There are also a few things that we didn’t include in the drawing. I suggested, for example, that we should install a panel on one side that can take x-rays of the person showering. That way, when a person showers, everyone on the outside can see that person’s bones.

Photo
